The Right Way of Organizing Your Golf Bag

If you are a new golfer, you might be surprised to find how many different items you need to load up into your golf bag before heading out onto the course. Supplies include golf balls, golf tees, gloves, extra clothes, snacks, drinks, and more. In order to make your bag work as conveniently as possible for you when you are on the course, you need to organize these items properly. It won't take long to get organized once you have a good plan, and you can customize your plan to make it work perfectly for you.

Take the following tips and work on getting your bag properly organized before your next round -

  • Keep golf balls and tees together. These are the items that you will need to access most frequently, so it makes sense to keep them together in your bag. They should be placed in one of the easiest-to-open pockets on your golf bag so you can get to another ball or tee quickly when the need arises. Most golf bags have a specific pocket that is intended for golf balls, so take a look at your bag and you should be easily able to identify which one it is on your bag.
  • The large pocket is for apparel. Just like there is a pocket meant for golf balls, most bags also have a large pocket along the side that works best for apparel like a sweater or rain gear. Fold up your clothing as tightly as possible to save space and make sure you can get it all to fit inside. Of course, if the weather is good enough that you don't need to carry those extra garments, it is always nice to take them out and save the weight in your bag.
  • Attach a towel to the outside. You will want to be able to get to your golf towel quickly anytime you need it during the round, so it is best to attach your towel to the outside of the bag. Most golf towels have a hole in them specifically intended for a clip that you can place on the bag in a variety of locations. With your golf towel within reach at any time, you can make sure your clubs are clean and dry before you hit a shot. Putting an extra towel inside your bag is also a good idea in case the first towel gets wet or too dirty.
